10 essential things you should do during your getaway to Marrakech<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are planning a trip to Marrakech, we propose ten plans so that you do not stop in this beautiful and chaotic city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Stay in a Riad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

But despite their differences, the common link is that they will help you immerse yourself in the country's culture, and turn your stay into a unique experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 . Stroll through the souks <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Buying in the souk is part of the country's culture, and to do so, you will have to walk through the crowded streets of Marrakech, stopping every five minutes to haggle for something or another, and buying much more than you expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if you don't feel like buying anything, browsing the spice stalls (in the Mellah souk), or trying on some slippers near Jamaa Square will make you enjoy the experience of getting lost in Marrakech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Try the hammam and the tempting massages in the oriental baths<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is possible that throughout your trip you feel a little overwhelmed by so much noise, so many people, so many smells... and for those moments there is nothing better than letting ourselves be pampered in one of the city's hammans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We warn you that the experience is different from that of the spas in Spain. The hamman, the oriental years, even the massages, are aimed at relaxing us through the senses, and to do so they will use essences, music, tea,... <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Visit the wall <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To get to the wall you will have to get away from the super populated Medina. Walking will take approximately twenty minutes, by taxi it will only take five, but we guarantee that it is worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The walk is pleasant, you will find gardens to rest, and the wall that borders the city is spectacular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Drink a tea with natural mint<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

They will offer you tea almost everywhere, in most cases as a courtesy of restaurants or establishments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the tea that is really worth it is the one that is sweetened with stevia and served with mint leaves in the glass. You will love it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Dress as a Tuareg<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you are going to visit the desert, we recommend wearing this clothing to avoid burning under the hot Moroccan sun. And if not, we recommend that you do it to enjoy the cultural immersion a little more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuareg clothing is comfortable and light, and they will help you put it on. It is undoubtedly an experience that is difficult to forget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Dine cus cos with live music<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We assume that you were already thinking about trying cous cous (and if you hadn't thought about it, we urge you to do so. The cous cous they prepare in Marrakech has nothing to do with European recipes, at least in the treatment of the food).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In any case, you can take the opportunity to enjoy a dinner with couscous and live music... which is not difficult if you dine at La Maison Arabe. A luxurious hotel and restaurant, where this traditional Moroccan dish is prepared with caramelized onions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Watch the sunset from the Koutoubia Mosque<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The beautiful Koutoubia Mosque, which we could only enjoy from the outside, since tourists are prohibited from entering, stole our hearts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is shockingly beautiful, it stands immovably in the middle of Marrakech, and its silhouette impacted us, especially at dusk, when a confluence of pink tones make it gradually fade away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Observe the Moroccan night from a terrace <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Marrakech night is full of fun activities. But if we have to choose, we suggest that you sit on one of the many terraces that proliferate on the city's rooftops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The height will allow you to see the bustling city from another perspective, while you enjoy a delicious snack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Refresh yourself with the multi-fruit juices that you will find in most restaurants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is one of the greatest gastronomic pleasures of Marakech. Natural juices, made to order, that combine refreshing fruits and vegetables and whose flavor explodes in your mouth as soon as you try them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will find them in street stalls, cafes and restaurants. Our suggestion: orange, apple, carrot and ginger juice from Zeitoun Caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
