We have bad news, summer is coming to an end... and if you don't believe it, all you have to do is take a look around you: mannequins wearing coats, announcements about back to school,... What's the good news? You still have time to make a late getaway to the coast, and to tempt you with the idea, we leave you our irresistible selection of beaches where you can extend your vacation period:

1. Comporta, Portugal

It is the fashionable beach this summer, and of course, we are not surprised.

It has everything we could want, an immense expanse of sand, a wonderful location (it borders the Sado estuary), easy access and calm waters for a dip. We think it's a delicious place to say goodbye to summer.

2. Cathedrals Beach, Lugo

It is one of the classic summer bets, so much so that between July and September it is necessary to make a reservation, on the Xunta de Galicia website, to be able to visit it.

But of course, we cannot fail to include it on our list. Because? Because walking among the arches that the sea has carved into the rock is one of the most spectacular experiences that exist.

3. Praia do Beliche, Portugal

Located in the Algarve, it is a place with difficult access, the descent staircase seems almost infinite, but it places us between the tip of Sagres and Cape San Vicente, that is, in paradise.

Its natural location will mean that we are protected from the wind, and it is also perfect for surf lovers.

4. Torimbia, Asturias

Imagine that you are lying on an immense crescent of incredibly white sand, and surrounded by a vast expanse of water.

Well, don't worry, because you won't need to use your imagination, this idyllic place is located half an hour by car from Ribadesella.

It has easy access, and although you can go with a swimsuit, it is a nudist beach.

5. Cacela Velha Beach, Portugal

What you will like most about this place is not its beach, it is its surroundings. It is accessed from the small town of Cacela Velha, a true haven of peace where time seems to stand still.

The beach is located in the middle of the Ria Formosa. When the tide is low you can access it by walking along the estuary, among the small crabs that move in search of water. If the tide is high, we can arrive in one of the many typical boats in the town.

6. Playa de los Lances, Tarifa

In this corner of Tarifa, 226 hectares of beach await us where we can do much more than sunbathe or surf.

From the white sands of this Andalusian beach it is possible to contemplate Gibraltar and the coast of Africa; spot birds during migration periods; and even admire the flora that lives in flooded areas.

7. Cala Millor, Mallorca

If there is a place where the spirit of summer lives all year round, it is the Balearic Islands. And what better than to say goodbye to the season with a swim in the impressive waters of Cala Millor?

In addition to crystal clear waters and warm sunsets, this Mallorcan area is full of restaurants and bars where we can relax as night falls. Perfect for a late getaway to the coast!

8. Caion Beach, Coruña

This beach located on the Costa da Morte, characterized by its turquoise waters, offers us multiple activities, from a cool swim to a long walk along its promenade with unbeatable views.

9. La Caleta Beach, Villajoyosa

It is the most mysterious beach on this list, a small cove with secret access, which is reached through the parking lot of the BlueSense Villajoyosa hotel, and before reaching the sand, you will have to walk a tree-lined path.

In addition to being an ideal place for scuba diving lovers, it is not usually crowded and allows us to enjoy a quiet getaway.

10. Playa de los Muertos, Almería

And as a last option, we offer you one of the most desired beaches on the Spanish coast, Almeria's Playa de los Muertos.

A beach with fine sand, warm water and a dreamy blue (although not recommended for children due to the important entrance step), and with so much fame that, apart from the access on foot from the parking lot (paid in summer), It can also be reached by boat from Carboneras.

Surely among all these ideas you will find some plan to make your late getaway to the coast.
